Marvel : Plan D
Psychic S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent
Jacob was always considered a ‘bright boy,’ but his lack of drive kept him from excelling. When he completed an entire high school curriculum in one year and graduated at the age of thirteen, his parents thought he’d finally decided to live up to his potential. They arranged for Jacob to interview with several state colleges, including a private academy in Westchester that boasted the perfect environment in which a gifted youngster like Jacob could learn. Despite cordial conversations between the Remenders and the school’s headmaster over the phone, his conversation with Jacob was rather terse, ending with both leaving with a headache.
A year later, during Onslaught’s rampage, Jacob was one of the few civilians unaffected by the storm of rampant psionic energy and managed to keep his family safe and hidden for the majority of the crisis. Onslaught was eventually stopped, but only through the sacrifice of the Avengers. While the world mourned, Jacob found himself face-to-face with Nick Fury, the director of S.H.I.E.L.D. He explained that Jacob was a mutant with vast telepathic potential, the same sort that was responsible for Onslaught. Fury offered Jacob the opportunity to join S.H.I.E.L.D. to help fill in the gap left by the loss of the Avengers. In return, he would provide Jacob with the training to focus his powers should another psionic threat appear.
